THE WINNERS CIRCLE
“The All Island Weight Loss Challenge”
This is the second staging of the all island weight loss challenge, which began on March 1 and ended on April 26. As each week passed, participants all received
wellness tips courtesy of myself Lipton Lee and the sponsors.
Self-monitoring was one of the biggest aspects of this year’s challenge, as each person tried to lose ten pounds in eight weeks. This target was, however,
attainable, as the participants were able to control their eating habits, exercise and follow the tips.
As early as 10am Saturday April 26, at the Grand Finale Gym Combat, the weight loss challenge participants gathered around the weighing station. Participants
eagerly anticipated their moment of triumph. One after the other they were weighed, measured, re-weighed and re-0measured.
At the stroke of 6 p.m. Jenny Jenny announced the top ten biggest losers, (their weight was not yet disclosed). Starting at the bottom and moving her way
mysteriously to the final two competitors. 18 pounds was called; then the next participant’s name was called. With an intense yet indifferent tone – “The winners of
this year’s competition with a loss a total of… Twenty pounds is…………… Ms. Lisa Goulbourne”.

Congratulations to all persons who lost the goal weight and did not get a chance to attend the finals. This is your commitment to keep it off and set attainable
goals. Remember the S.M.A.A.R.T. principle, and use it wisely.
Open Dance Off Segment
An enjoyable segment that spoke highly of our tag line “Come for the Fun, Stay for the Exercise”, a true statement of Gym Combat.
The Old School Dance Hall segment hosted by Callroy Harris and Paul Henry had everyone in a frenzy. Young and old alike got busy doing the Butterfly, Bogle,
Tatty, Worl’- A- Dance etc. as the sponsors rewarded persons for their participation.
The criteria for this segment are SMILE, PARTICIPATE and ENJOY.
This was done more effectively than any other segment. Our aim was to create an atmosphere in which exercise could be so much fun with great rewards.
Part two of the Open Dance Off Segment hosted by Tania Serrano working out to the Latin groove, as she mesmerized the participant with her hip movements.
Latin is now a craze across the world
Tips;
Exercise can be fun. Find something you enjoy doing. It will bring out that smile in you.
